Werther’s® Original® Caramel Popcorn Gives People’s Choice Awards Fans the Gold Standard in Entertainment Snacking

On April 5, Werther’s is Giving Away 1 Million Pieces of Caramel ...

Spring in the Big Apple will be a little sweeter this year thanks to America’s most beloved caramel brand, Werther’s Original. In celebration of National Caramel Day on Tuesday, April 5, the iconic brand will distribute 1 million pieces of rich, creamy caramel. Commuters and candy lovers in the New York City area will have the chance to see a Werther’s 6-foot-diameter candy bowl for themselves, located near the Times Square subway entrance.

Visitors of the giant candy bowl are encouraged to BYOB (bring your own (candy) bowl, of course), but even those who show up empty-handed will be rewarded with sweet treats. Perfect for sharing, Werther’s will hand out two bags of caramel to each visitor – one for themselves and one for a friend. Caramel lovers nationwide can also get in on the experience by guessing the number of candies in the bowl and sharing on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShareYourWerthers for a chance to win exclusive giveaways.

“We’re so excited to be celebrating National Caramel Day in Times Square this year,” said Meredith Suffron, Director of Marketing for Werther’s Original. “As one of the most beloved caramel brands, it just seemed fitting for us to reward caramel lovers with sweet treats on this special day. It’s also a great opportunity for us to shed some light on our wide variety of products – including Werther’s Original Soft Caramels, the newest addition to our delicious line and our softest caramel yet.”

Starting at 7 a.m. EDT, Werther’s will serve up heaping scoops of four delicious caramel varieties, including Werther’s Original Caramel Hard Candies, Chewy Caramels, Creamy Caramel Filled and Soft Caramels. Sampling will take place until noon EDT, or until candy runs out – whichever comes first. For more information about Werther’s and its delicious products, visit Facebook.com/werthersoriginalus.
